What's up with American news stations these days?

I've noticed that America news stations are more concerned about entertaining their audience than they are with giving them unbiased info. Glenn Beck, Colbert, Nancy Grace, etc are all ridiculous shows. They are so biased and are for people with an IQ of 80. Seriously! When I was on vacation in France this past summer, I watched BBC and a french news station and I noticed that it was so much more objective than American news. Why can't American news be more like European news (straightforward and objective)?
