How come i dont have audio after upgrading from windows xp to windows vista?

i called up dell and they said that sound blaster audigy has yet to update their driver to work with vista. but how come when i plug in my bose speakers thru usb it has audio? and do you think if i downgrade back to xp im gonna get everything back to normal?
