Snowboard box top material?

I'm going to build a snowboard box, and i need to know the top material to use. I have read about HDPE, TREX, Puck Board, lexan, and plexigl. I'm looking for something cheap. I have no idea where to get HDPE or puck board or lexan. What does TREX look like? is it wood-like?
